Colon Hydrotherapy

They say the GI tract may be the key to many of our current health problems, and that there are easy, natural and surprising tasty ways to healing our gut. Food should pass through the body every eighteen hours.  Any food that spoils, ferments, forms gas, or causes a disturbance in the bowel also affects the rest of the body – When the bowel is not taken care of, its responses become sluggish and underactive.

Many doctors are now embracing colonic irrigation as an adjunct to their traditional medical treatments, or as part an overall regimen of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) designed to cleanse and detoxify their patient’s colon, liver, kidney and lymphatic systems.

Your Gut is your second brain. Did you know your gut, actually contains MORE neurotransmitters than your brain? In fact, the gut has a brain of its own. It is called the “enteric nervous system” and it is a very sophisticated piece of your biology that is wired to your brain in intricate ways.

Ancient Therapies Studio uses both open and closed colon hydrotherapy devices.

Our Therapists is a certified members of the International Association of Colon Hydro therapists. We offer Colon Hydrotherapy with the use of the” Libbe” open-system. Our devices are state-of-the -art and FDA registered. The “LIBBE” devices are SELF-INSERTING rectal nozzle systems. All water in the colonic system is sterilized with (UV) Ultraviolet light and advanced filtration. Modern colon hydrotherapy equipment utilizes pre-sterilized, disposable hoses and speculums. These disposables are used only once during a single therapy session. All equipment is cleaned and highly sanitized using hospital grade disinfectants and cleansers.

With an open system you lie on a molded fiberglass table that looks like a recliner. The form-fitted table has a basin cut into it & a small, sterile disposable rectal speculum, about the size of a pencil is attached at one end. After demonstrating how to gently self-insert the speculum, our therapist leaves the room, providing total privacy for the client. The therapist returns when you are ready and provides instruction during your first session, however the therapist can allow you private time once you are familiar with how everything operates and feel comfortable being left on your own. Typically our therapists are the ones operating the colonic device. There are some colonic places that have you operate the colonic device. You are paying for a professional colonic and should expect the therapist to perform the colonic not yourself. Therapists gain their experience by performing colonics learning how people react to the process and viewing the matter expelled from the colon. With their expertise they are better able to discuss your concerns and provide valuable information for your health journey.  The session begins with a gentle, continuous flow of gravity-fed water through the rectal tube & into you. When slight pressure builds up in the colon, the water can release. As water is flowing out through an illuminated glass viewing tube, the client can view their elimination. This process is repeated during the approximately 35-45 minute session. To ensure maximum sanitation, we use a new disposable speculum/rectal nozzle for each client. Client is to wear a comfortable shirt and supplied with a disposable sheet.

Our clients report extremely high levels of satisfaction with this system, for two main reasons:

  1. The key factors is that your privacy and personal hygiene are maintained at all times, since the specially designed bed allows you to easily insert the ‘pencil thin’ lubricated rectal tube by yourself. Many people find this deeply reassuring and comforting.
  2. The entirety of our clients report the LIBBE colonic irrigation open system to be extremely comfortable with virtually no discomfort at all. Because the continuous inflow of water provides more natural, gentle releases, the peristalsis (action of the muscles of the colon) is greatly stimulated

Long term accumulation of toxins may lead to a more serious progression of disease.  Drainage and detoxification removes accumulated toxins and restores functioning of the eliminatory organs, therefore restoring health. Colon hydrotherapy and Infrared Sauna treatments are recommended in most detoxification plans.

What is a colonic?

A colonic irrigation gently cleanses and exercises the colon by filling and emptying the colon with warm and cool water, alternately. During your colon irrigation, a trained technician skillfully massages your abdomen for the best results. Colonics remove waste matter from the entire 5 feet of the colon, from rectum to cecum. Without removal, these toxins can be reabsorbed into the blood stream and can cause many serious effects. Colonics re-tone the bowel and bring back normal bowel movements.

What is the difference between a colonic and an enema?

An enema (using 2 quarts of water) usually just flushes out the lower end of the colon, the sigmoid colon, where the waste matter (feces) collects. Colonic flushes water throughout the entire colon, from the rectum to cecum. Colonic action can soften years of dried hardened fecal crust lining the colon, and can remove gas, mucus, intestinal parasites and undigested food particle. Massage of the abdomen during the colonic and varied water temperatures improve the peristaltic (wave-like) motion of the colon and enhances vascular and lymphatic circulation. A colonic uses up to 15 gallons of water as compared to the 2 quarts of an enema.

How do I prepare for a colonic?

Try to skip the meal before a colonic, if possible. As you fast, more toxins begin to be released into your system for cleansing. Likewise, eat lightly after colonic or just drink liquids.

How long does a colonic last?

Colonic irrigations is 40 minutes.

What should I do after a colonic?

Although a colonic will wash out much old toxic matter, it will also wash out the friendly bacteria if there are any. To help replace the normal colon bacteria, take one to two capsules of acidophilus or bifidus (which are found in a health colon), after your colonic.

Is a colonic painful or embarrassing?

The idea of a colonic often reminds people of the smell and mass of an enema. Nothing could be further from the truth. After the gentle insertion of a small tube into the rectum, sterilized tubing carries water in. You just relax in a professional atmosphere. Except for the brief insertion of the tube, you are completely covered with a sheet during your colonic.

You are in control of the situation at all times. We have highly trained therapist to meet your needs. Although people are often needlessly fearful of doing colonics, after the actual experience, the standard comment is, “why, that wasn’t at all the way that I imagined it!” and they look forward to the next one.  Don’t let unfounded fears stop you from taking one of the most health giving treatments available.

How do you maintain a clean colon after the session?
Right after the session, we suggest that you drink a green juice and consume fermented foods. Fermented foods add good bacteria into the colon aid digestion.
