Naturopathic Doctors & Practioners

Naturopathic physicians combine the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. Steeped in traditional healing methods, principles and practices, naturopathic medicine focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Thomas S. Lee

Dr. Lee is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD/ND).  He offers naturopathic consultations by phone or email.  Dr. Lee is licensed to prescribe conventional pharmaceuticals should they be indicated or require management.  Naturopathic doctors are uniquely educated in natural medicines, however, which often have excellent scientific rationales and far safer results than popular pharmaceutical synthetics.

Dr. Zhen Liu

Dr. Zhen Liu is a National Board-Certified Acupuncturist. He has over 28 years’ experience as a Traditional Chinese Medical Doctor. Dr. Liu was trained as a traditional Chinese Medical Doctor in Nanjing City, China. While in China, Dr. Liu was the Supervisor in the Emergency Room for several years. Many of our patients refer to Dr. Zhen Liu as a “miracle worker.” He also specializes in women’s health irregularities for example fibroids, pre and post menopausal care, and infertility which is his passion.

Cure is a strong word, but acupuncture might help increase your odds of getting pregnant, and the evidence it works is more than just word of mouth.

Several studies have found that women who get acupuncture treatments — whether to treat conditions that can interfere with getting pregnant (such as polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS) or to increase the chances of a successful IVF — have a higher rate of pregnancy and births. Some fertility doctors recommend acupuncture for their patients to help lower overall stress levels, because stress hormones can lower fertility hormones like progesterone.

Dr. Liu’s fertility regimen has successfully helped clients who have been trying for years and he was their last hope. Dr Zhen Liu has tremendous compassion and concern for all his patients and has significantly impacted many of their component of “chi deficiency”, “chi blood deficiency”, or “yang deficiency” depending on their specific symptoms.

Acupuncture can begin at any time during the fertility treatment – before you start taking any oral or injectable drugs to help “prep” your body; during drug treatment to help deal with side effects (nausea, moodiness, fatigue); or during IVF cycles.

Dr Liu charges between $150 and $300 for an initial visit and $75 to $150 for follow-ups. This does include the cost of the herb formula. Fertility acupuncture is a specialty different than regular acupuncture treatments. It requires 5-6 sessions per month to be successful.

Before you investigate acupuncture, however, make sure you receive a medical evaluation by a physician. “There are certain conditions that can’t be helped by acupuncture, such as blocked fallopian tubes, so you need to know what is going on with your body medically.
